On the Aida Cara vessel, there was the necessity to install a new windbreaker to protect from the wind the people seating outside on an aft bar.
The shape of the windbraker had been decided by a company stylist, and we was engaged to design and fix the structural detail.
Final design was compliant with DNV-GL rules, even no specific rule are stated for the present case.
We performed then dedicated Finite Element Analysis to simulate the wind effect on the structure and to fix the detailed design (steel and glass); reference wind was of about 40knots.
